About
Julie Garcia, Owner & Interior Designer, started life in a charming ranch style home on a hill just a few miles from Lake Oroville, with the view of the Sutter Buttes and coastal mountain range, where her mother decorated homes throughout the Northern Sacramento Valley. Julie was surrounded by wallpaper samples, fabric swatches, and accessories from the late 60’s and 70’s era.
Julie began her studies at California State University, Chico earning her Bachelor of Arts degree by creating her own special major in Interior Design. She became certified by the state of California - CCIDC. After an extensive tenure in merchandising model homes, she started her own interior design company, The Decorator’s Daughters.
In Sacramento, Elk Grove and throughout Northern California, Julie developed her expertise in residential design, everything from interior finish selections, furniture and window treatments, to simply accessorizing an outdated space. With over 30 years of design experience, Julie has decorated homes at all stages with both indoor and outdoor designs. Her expertise doesn’t end there, she has completed creativity driven marketing departments, bank offices and reception areas. Julie volunteered her time at Compassion Village designing a tiny home for those experiencing homelessness. Julie also lends her time to the Elk Grove Historical Society, orchestrating major improvements like wallpaper and drapes for the museum as well as decorating for many of their fundraising events. In her spare time, Julie continues to find ways to give back to local communities, takes full advantage of the beautiful walking trails in Elk Grove, shops and scavenges for those unique finds, arranges fresh florals any chance she gets, and travels to spend time with her kids, grandkids, and daughter living in Hawaii.
Julie cultivates her fresh approach to classic designs by always staying inspired from different cultures and aesthetics, creating innovative design strategies for any kind of space. Her work as she would say, “Is always as unique and individual as the clients I designs for."
